The Durham Youth Alliance Youth Council is 5 of DYA’s most prominent and inspiring students who show
the greatest leadership and take charge. They are in charge of planning and implementing our events.
Such events are listed below:

 

• The Durham Youth Alliances Annual Bar-B-Q at the park. This event invites the whole community to a one-night open party in the block with the hopes of bringing the community together.

• Legends Ball: which honors community leaders

• The New York/DC Trip: a trip to learn and experience different culture and learn about politics, economics, business and history

• Trunk-or-Treat: a Halloween event for safe and fun trick-or-treating

*The youth council also creates other events to broaden the horizons of its members and bring the
community together besides our annual events.

 

 

Meetings

 

Youth Council meetings are held every Wednesday at 6pm. General body meetings are held every
Thursday at 6pm.

 

Who we serve 

 

The Durham Youth Alliance is an interdisciplinary leadership program and we serve all ages and all stages. However, we prefer our members to be between the ages of 8-18. We understand if a student has to baby sit his or her younger sibling while their parents are at work, therefore we never turn anyone away.
