DYA provides a professional development workshop to get its members prepared for the work world. The program teaches them: how to write and build their resumes, how to act and dress during an interview and what to say and not to say during an interview.
Acting Workshop
Acting Professionals teach all of our members interested in acting
how to act, improv, think on their feet, speak publicly, and the ends and out of the industry.
Entrepreneurship 101
This workshop teaches its participants how to start and run a business. This workshop is also coupled with computer programing, computer coding and a focus on the technology industry.
Academic Workshop
Hip Hop Choir
Members are provided with one on one tutoring to help with homework and to assist in leraning deficits.
Is a workshop that studies the Hip Hop culture and it’s international influence. In addition to its historical context, this workshop examines the different types of “flow” speech pattern and rhyme. Learning the intimate intricacies that separate an average poet from a legendary poet. this Is a workshop geared towards the artistic musical type. Here they will learn how to alter the medley of D.Y.A. approved hip-hop music into a series of sung tunes.
SAT/ACT Workshop
Members are provided with one on one assistance in college selection, applications, as well as help with preparing to take the SAT or ACT.
CNA 1&2 Licensure Workshop
As per the Nursing Board’s requirements, DYA has arranged the provisions for launching both a Nurse Aide I (it’s a 100 hour course) and Nurse Aide II (it lasts for 160 clock hours) programs. Prospective students interested in the 5 weeks long Nurse Aide I program should expect the first 4 weeks (5 hours daily, 3 days of each week) to go by on lecture-cum-lab classes, and then the final 1 week (8 hours daily, Mon-Fri) in clinical training. Altogether it’s a 5 weeks long program. When you have gain the Nurse Aide I designation, then you can go and enroll at the 7 weeks long Nurse Aide II program at DYA. The schedule is same as the Nurse Aide I program, with the slight difference that you will have 2 clinical weeks to hone your hands-on CNA skills.
